HERLONG RENEWAL PROCESS

 

Herlong Renewal Process

If you wish to renew your application for the South Carolina Coaches Association Herlong Scholarship, please note that you should not submit a new scholarship application. Instead, follow the renewal process outlined below:

  1. Submit a Letter of Request
    Write and submit a letter requesting to be re-considered as a recipient of the 2025 Herlong Scholarship.

    • Mail your letter to:
      South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association Scholarship Committee
      P.O. Box 2734, Anderson, SC, 29622
    • Or email your letter to:
      SCACA Office at scott@sccoaches.org

  2. Submit an Official School Transcript
    Provide an official school transcript that meets the following criteria:

    • Includes the school seal
    • Is signed by the appropriate school authority
    • Is cumulative, including Fall 2024 semester grades
    • Reflects a minimum 2.00 GPA (C average) and at least 12 semester hours (or equivalent) earned

    Transcripts must be submitted by mail or through the approved email options listed below.

Important Deadline
Your letter and official transcript must be postmarked by April 1,2025.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The scholarship is available for a maximum of four years for undergraduate students.
  • Applicants must be single dependents of a past or present parent-coach.
  • Students receiving a full scholarship for the upcoming school year are not eligible to apply.

You will be notified of the Scholarship Committee’s decision in May after their meeting.

*As an option, the SCACA Office will also accept OFFICIAL college/university transcripts with appropriate signatures and seals via email by:

  1.  A communication to the SCACA Office (lacey@sccoaches.org) directly from the college/university Records Office.

  2.  A communication to the SCACA Office (lacey@sccoaches.org) from a document delivery service utilized by the college/university such as Parchment Send Service.
